Code Zero for DF28 Touring

I have been playing with the idea of getting a Code 0. Would anyone have a Code 0 on a DF 28 Touring? I would like to know what your experience is. Dimensions of the sail, type of cloth, type of furler and anti torsion line, sail maker and, if the rules of the forum allow, an indication of the price...

thanks for your contributions!

Anders, we shall be missing your input on the forum as you definitely were the most enthusiastic and active DF28 contributor. Can I be nosy and ask whether you moved on to a different boat and the reasons for changing (I would have imagine the Sotckholm archipelago to be a perfect sailing ground for...

Thanks! Some foillow up questions

Anders, Thanks a lot for taking the time for making these very instructive pictures (and Bo for posting). Everything is quite clear. Just some follow up questions to be sure I did not misunderstand (and have all the materials needed) before I start drilling. The cheeck block nuts on the inside are t...

hi Pippo, Yes, I implemented this. Boat no 14. Works great (have no problems with it). Two cheek blocks and four or six plastic leads. Great! I guess I will follow your lead also on this (you convinced me to go to the high thrust propeller, a choice of which I am extremely happy). When you have a l...

Re: Swing wing pull out

Did you see the pull out system for no 40? Saw it on Bella exhibition 2011. Will implement soon. The pull out part of the rope goes forward from a cheek block and not out to the ama. Ask me for pictures (Can we attach pictures in this forum?). Anders, did you actually implement the new pull out sys...

Re: High trust Propeller is a MUST

A model for a 10 Hp has reference 06581-ZW9-A40ZA . Just to say thanks for the advice. The high thrust propeller is a must. Finally this summer got round to install it (very easy) and started regretting not having done that earlier. Manouvers also with strong wind are MUCH better :D , boat responds...

Thanks

Gentlemen, Thanks a lot, suggestiontions really much appreciated. I guess I have to start buying the charts. Looking at the one kindly attached by Mario I realize that next to having something in my little GPS I need some serious paper charts. Any idea of where to order them online? On what the best...

baltic summer cruise??

Dear baltic friends, Without being equipped or able to race (yet!) I am not in position to join Aro's enticig competitive programmes around the Baltic. However, this summer I still would like to trailer to the Danish and possibly Swedish waters from Holland, and would be very keen for advice. Basica...

too inspiring I want to imitate... some questions

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHToSDz5ghU&feature=youtube_gdata_player Great video thanks! And great sails. I assume you made them. I have read conflicting and tendentially negative views on the utility of the code zero (bulky and limited range of use). But everything seems very smooth and fas...

I find they would not be very useful because they easily get pushed forward and on the wrong side of the ama. Thanks Earth, I saw the problem you mention. Even more so with the last fender towards the stern of the ama which I hang from the back stay purchase. It regularly jumps inside. Still betwee...

How to set the fenders on the bows of the amas?

I am not sure this is a general as opposed to a specific DF28 issue but maybe someone else has found a simple solution to my problem. Setting the fender at the bow of the amas when folded out (eg before entering locks) with even a little swell seems a rather acrobatic and wet exercise. The bows of t...

Re: Propeller

Yes, I read an article about thrust from propellers. Then I bought a high thrust propeller fron Honda (Have a 15 hp Honda). Yes, yeah, just going from the slip to ny pontoon was a thrill. True action from the motor. Acceleration like when I put three bladed folding prop on the J/110 as opposed to a...

bridle for anchoring and mooring

Hopefully will take delivery of DF next week and getting ready... :D In this and in other anchoring discussions there is a consensus a good bridle from the amas with a rolling hitch on the anchor rode is the solution to go for. I would like to profit from the experiences out there. How are your brid...

You will always need the B+E licence. You need it when your car is lighter than your trailer and you need it when car+trailer>3500. Assuming boat+trailer are heavier than 1750kg, one of each conditions will always be met. So good luck bribing your driving examinator (sorry about that silly bigotted...

Trailering DF 28 Which car ? which licence?

Dear All, It is a while I am reading this great forum but this is my first post. My multihull credentials are limited to a couple of hours of inebriating test on a DF 920. They were sufficient to convince me to put for sale my family's beloved old Contest 25 and go for a DF 28 with which it was love...
