Re: Electric motor
I have been tinkering on that subject. I manage to fit a 24V 500W electric motor on an outboard shaft. I did test that configuration with two 12V 27Ah batteries and got a 2.5 kn speed (no wind). We are back to yes it would work for say 10 min. getting out of harbor and 10 min. getting back in. And ...

Oh yeah. I see now. Sadly someone has removed the sheaves. I'll have to fiX new ones first. Bought a tool to pull wire through long pipes to help guide the line. Also I don't find any sheaves in the front side of the boom. Can anyone post pictures of how it should look? This is how it looks on my bo...

Replacing ama lid seals
The round ama lids on the old Dragonfly 800 MkI/26 are sealed with a rage o-ring (25 cm in diameter) made in some kind of neoprene rubber material.
Does anyone know where to find replacements for these?

Self tacking jib
Anyone installed a track in front of the mast to make the jib self tacking on the DF 800?
I wonder if I could use my current jib with a tacking track. The jib reaches a little bit further back behind the mast.

Replace kitchen sink
I was thinking of replacing the kitchen sink with a smaller sink and place a fridge between the sink and the hull.
Has anyone done anything similar?
The kitchen sink seems to be glued in place pretty well.

Yeah, wind is my biggest concern. My goal is to do some tests with this next season. Fortunately, 55 lbs trolling motors have come down a lot in price so it will not ruin me to perform tests. It's pretty easy to find shelter behind islands everywhere here, and my marina is pretty good sheltered from...

Bo: What you forget is that not everyone is using the full 10 hp of the motor all the time. I for example often use a low speed setting, that is around 0.5 - 1 hp to drive my DF 800 on and out from the marina with my 5 hp motor. If I were to install a 55 lbs trolling motor (roughly 1 hp), and use it...

Internal/external fuel tank?
My Dragonfly 800 MkII has an gas cap but according to the previous owner no internal fuel tank is connected, hence I have an external tank by the rudder on the stern.
Does anyone know the reason for the missing tank, and if it's possible acceass that space to add a new one?
