Cradle measurements for DF1000
Hi, I have seen a cradle drawing but can't seem to locate it. I want to truck a DF1000 and am worried about how it will be loaded without a cradle. If I had plans that I could get quotes from welders for it might be safer and cheaper. If I could load it on tires on the main hull centerline and straps...

Thanks Larry, So do you think it could sit on its bottom with the load spread the length of the main hull and some supports on those four points. By ship to Canada from LA to Canada is over $11,000. I also have great pictures of the damage for any potential buyers curious now or in the future that I...

Trailering DF 1000 width
Hi What is the best way to make a DF1000 more narrow for trailering from L.A. to Canada ? I think 12 ft 4 in. requires a permit and perhaps a chase car. I am thinking that if I could take one ama off and the akas maybe it would make it more legal to be trucked and thus Cheaper in cost.Is this a bad ...

Damaged boat in Marina Del Rey
Hi Steve, I found out the story from the people who auctioned the boat off as an insurance write off. Yes big holes. I will measure the mast tomorrow when we fly down to see it, but somewhere I saw it supposedly had the taller mast. Hopefully it rotates also. It is aluminum. Is there anything else I...

different mast heights on the DF 1000
Hi Mike, I see a standard 14.1m mast height and later an optional taller one but can't find the measurements. I am going to look at one tomorrow and will measure. I certainly would like the taller one. Can they all be made to rotate ?
Thanks Derek

Shipping by Container from the Med to Noth America
Hi, Does anyone have knowledge of who is best and economical to ship a DF 1000 by container from the Med to N.A. ? I am thinking if I bought one there sailed Turkey, Croatia etc then shipped by container. The mast is I think 45ft or 50ft.Thanks Derek

Hi again Steve, I am thinking that if the owner is willing to show me all the damage photos and insurance report, then with a thorough out of water survey by a surveyor of my choice perhaps I can still end up with this boat. Do you still have those pics of the damage and/or the email of the previous...

Hi, I am looking at a DF1000 for sale in L.A. The present owner says a rock put a hole in the main hull and about 2 ft of water got in the boat. It has a new engine and some wiring , but the in water survey doesn't mention the accident or damage and is conflicting in its report. It is supposed to hav...

Thru hulls
Hi, I just read the web site on brass thru hulls that are often sold as bronze. What has been your experience with the dragonfly thruhulls ? I just read a survey with a scratch test being OK but the article and pictures show that that is not a reliable test. Should we change to Marelon ????
