Need Mast Rake
My DF800SW was de-masted by the previous owner and he modified the forestay, now I have a Harken furler above deck. I believe they cut the forestay too short and therefore added spacers. I am going to get new sails (have original main and oversized genoa and have lee helm). I will replace all the st...

DF Yard
Got an e-mail from Dragonfly.
They recommend to extend the upper bracket (gudgeon) by welding a plate and bolting it down with three extra 8mm bolts.
Apparently this has happen before, does anyone had had this problem before?
Cheers,
Walter

Transom Broke
A crack develop on the transom were the top "gudgeon" of the rudder attaches. I am not sure if it develop during the last race or over a long period of time. The crack travelled all the way to the swim ladder bolt hole. http://www.dragonfly-trimarans.org/images920/Transom0_s.jpg http://www...

Motor Bracket
I had a difficult time finding the original outboard motor bracket. I wanted to install the original outboard motor bracket in order not to drill new holes in the transom. There are discussions of installing different motor brackets in the old forum. I found that the Garelick Model 71057 is very sim...

Lifting Eyes
My boot is a DF800SW 1991 Front Lifting Eyes: I understand the bolt on the front hinge (on the hull side) needs to be replaced with a forged lifting eye. Any tips? Aft Lifting Eye: There is no bolt to be replaced! The traveler beam bolts to the hinge and I do not see space available to install a lif...

DF800 Manual - Boat Choosing
Hello Christine, I agree with Bo, the manuals won't tell you much in trying to choose a boat. In this forum, somewhere in the files, there are manuals for the DF920 and the DF1000, they basically tell you how to set it up and how to sail it. Try to go sailing in one of them. Here in Houston we have ...

Square Top Main
I am considering new sails. For the main I would like a square top. Can the mast handle the extra load. In the F-27 boats they add a secondary shroud from the the shackle were the running backstay adjustent attaches to the shroud (cruising version) all the way to the top of the mast. Or should I cha...

I think this is a good forum, I come and check it almost every day. I think this forum is needed. I think the manual is important. For example, one of these days I will have to change all my running rigging and I do not know what kind of lines should I use for each application, its length and diamet...

Lock - Companion Way Hatch
I need to replace the lock in the companion way hatch. My DF800 is a 1991 model. Is there a nut on the inside? If so, how do you get to it. I call a locksmith and he was not able to remove it. Installing a new lock will also be tricky, I am not sure if I will able to find a short lock here in the US...
