Two years two DF25T experience
For those contemplating the purchase of a DF25. As my background. I am 84YO and often a single hander for over 60 years. I have owned over 30 boats up to 52 ft, including 10 years experience with a supercharged Firefly 26 a near rip off of the old DF25. I have sailed on east and west coast including...

Re: Picking up the mooring single-handed when the wind is strong
I have single handed many different boats power and sail up to 52ft. and done a lot of mooring pickups. My preferred method is to rig a line from bow around any shrouds back to stern quarter. This line has a mooring pick up hook that fits on a boat hook pole and will slide off after it is engaged. I...

Raising the mainsail
I usually single hand and have done it for over 60 years. Now in my mid 80s ,for the last two years ,I am sailing the new DF25 touring. I have always found that getting the main up and drawing fast is a good thing. Many years ago I purchased for my J/44 a plumbers right angle drill and had a machine...

Re: our 25T experience
I see no new DF/25 posts so I will start the ball rolling. I have two DF/25s one in PNW and the other in San Diego. #s 74 and 90 both are touring versions. I owned and sailed for >10 years modified firefly 26 which was basically a supercharged DF/25 back in the Eighties. I used the boat for several ...

Re: capsiize
Bad things can happen with any boat. That said experience with multihulls points to a common trend, push a multi too far and it may push back. The same rule holds for monohulls but at a higher level of forgiveness. I think of the times I pushed my multi into the high teens as being similar to riddin...

Rigging of gennaker or code 0 sail 2020 DF25T
I went out sailing yesterday and wind was 5K-9K so I pulled out Gennaker and found lines easy to rig. There is a furler with continuous loop that attaches with a shock cord and hook to loop on inner end of swing wing and sheets rigged to a snatch blocks that go to loops on outermost end of swing win...

How to rig lines on new DF25
I have a 2020 DF 25 Turing with a furling downwind gennaker sail set from bowsprit. There are no diagrams for placement of furling lines or gennaker sheets. Can someone give me some clues or simple line diagram. Also is this sail meant to jib outside in front of itself or in between headstay and gen...
