Need PHRF handicap rating for Touring DF 35

Post by John Neidig »

I would like to race my Touring Dragonfly 35 but I need a PHRF value. My club rater does not seem to know how to or want to rate my boat.
Has anyone gone through the process of rating a Touring DF35 or know where I can find an appropriate number?

I would start with NEMA - New England Multihull Association: https://nemasail.org

PHRF are usually locally adjusted. Count on being majorly screwed especially in a mixed fleet...

Do let us know what number you get.

I think 920 started at 60. But it has been more than 10 years since I checked...

I think you might find it is not rewarding to race in the same around the buoys event with monohulls. There is no way you will ever get a fair rating, and the vast difference in performance increases the risk of collision in tight places.
