Hinge Bolt replacements

Post by Steviec14 »

Anyone have a specification to upgrade the hinge bolts on my DF800sw?

noticed the close proximity of the nuts so concerned on making the new holes too big!

Hi Steviec14

I have just had the hinge bolts replaces with bigger ones. The replacement was done by the service department at Quorning Boats in Skærbæk. I can see that they have replaced some of the nuts close to the bolt in order to make room for it. I can send you some pictures of the new installation if you like?

Best regards
Brian

Thank you Brian

Really helpful, I am guessing the bolts are 16mm?

Can I ask a rude question - how much did the parts cost?

Hi Steve

Yes, it is 16 mm bolts.

I don't know the price as they came with the boat when I bought it this spring. The previous owner only purchased them but net got to install them. I think he got them through after sales at Quorning Boats.

Best regards

I have done this project for both DF1000R and DF800SW.

There was a LOT of problems with DF800 technical structure. Very bad workmanship by the manufacturer. I have quite good 3D CAD files and other documentation about the project. It took about 200h to replace all SW system mechanics, build a new mainsail traveler track and fix all the structural problems.

Result is good, much better than the original structure.
