I want to replace my swingwing cable. Because of the pressed on fittings I would need to remove the pully and take it to a workshop to get a new cable fitted. In alternative, has anyone tried or investigate to use a low stretch dyneema wire instead with eyes splices on each end? For example using 6MM Gottifreddi DSK 99 mounting thimbles in the spliced eyes after pulling the wire through the pully?
7*7 stainless steel cable has less strenght and more stretch than the intended dyneema cable.
Swingwing cable in dyneema
Re: Swingwing cable in dyneema
I snapped the steel cable on my right Ama two years ago. I replaced it with 6 mm Dynema, it worked good. Important: the aluminium hose and the safety cable in front have to be installed by use. So the swingwing cable is only for unfolding and thighten the trampoline. The stretching is no problem. The pulley inside the Aka compensate the difference.
