Tiller handle dry rotted- replacement source?

A gentle tug on the extension tore it out of the handle so I need to replace it. Anyone know a source or have direction on where to have one constructed?

Tillers of various length and thickness are widely available from all marine stores. Not particularly cheap. Or get a piece of aluminum and shape it and bend it to your liking. First look at West Marine and Defender catalogs.
