Hello folks.
Short story, I've lost one of the base frames (?) of an ama hatch.
In the process now of trying to get a price (and availability of course) for just that aluminum piece but in the process I began to wonder why Quorning uses acrylic (translucent) hatches in the amas.
Why not a flush access hatch instead..like the Bomar option

Anyway, if I can't get the Moonlight part (BSI, rep'd in the US by Rigrite.com) then I'm looking at alternatives that aren't $3-500 for the whole hatch assembly.
Is there an alternative vendor for such a hatch? I think the rough openings are 500 mm x 370 mm...
As always, I welcome the wisdom of you folks here...you've saved me from my own stupidity before....
Replacing Ama Moonlight hatches?

try lewmar. they are widely available and very affordable if you find the right size.
this bomar looks promising. except this uv stable resin doesn't last very long especially if you keep stepping on it. plexiglass will loose transparency but still does not break after uv and stepping on. doesn't bomar also make affordable real hatches?
